The Myth Of Gifted Education

Myth: Gifted kids have it made and will succeed in life no matter what. They don't need any special help in school or anywhere else.
Fact: Everyone needs encouragement and help to make the most of their abilities and succeed in life. In fact, research shows that 25% of gifted people are underachievers and quit trying because nothing they do leads to any measurable success or satisfaction

Our Story

Our school was created to meet a need in the community to serve intellectually gifted children who are not able to develop their potential within a traditional school environment. The structure, pace, and content of the curriculum in their current setting are not challenging, accelerated, or engaging enough for them, and it is detrimental to their development.

With many of the students we are enrolling, anxiety and boredom toward school and the request by a child to be homeschooled are common. A micro-school environment takes the best things about homeschooling and adds in a collaborative, project-based environment with trained educators to meet students at their individual readiness levels.

What Parents Like You Are Saying About Us:

Lauren U.

Joining the “disruptive and reimagined education” at MSGA has been life changing for our son. We have seen his joy in learning return and he is benefiting daily from the personalized approach that meets him where he is and stretches him to achieve mastery. He loves school now. He loves being responsible for his own education and having hands on opportunities as well as having guides who listen and support his problem solving and goal setting.

MSGA is an answer to years of prayer and we are infinitely grateful for this life changing, soul enriching experience. Every afternoon is now full of childhood and a review of the amazing day’s activities instead of homework and detoxing from the day. Every morning is now full of excitement for the day ahead.

MSGA’s focus on mindful, purposeful learning has created an environment where freedom of expression, curiosity and even failure are all valuable ingredients for success. I can’t wait to see where this road leads for our son, but in the meantime we’re going to enjoy this journey step by step, turn by turn and moment by moment.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a micro-school?

A micro-school is an intentionally small school led by a trained professional and focused on meaningful, integrated, project-based, whole student learning and community involvement. Micro-schools are also called the modern-day one-room schoolhouse in that students from different ages and grades are learning alongside each other, grouped together for some projects, but working individually for part of the day on a very personalized learning path.

What ages do you serve?

We serve children ages 6-12, and will grow with our oldest students all the way through high school. Our future plans include hiring lead middle and high school guides and an early childhood guide to lead our 5/6 year old program.

What are tuition costs for the 2018-2019 school year?

Our tuition is $12,500. All fees are built into the tuition and cover enrollment, materials, a laptop, and local field trips.
